Yep, it's been 1 year already. Halloween marks the 1 year anniversary of Desert Muscle and of course we have to have an event to celebrate.

We debated having a dyno day, but that costs $$ and we wanted to give something back to everyone for this past year of good times you all have brought to DM, so we thought why not a BBQ as well. That wasn't good enough though, so we have a few prizes to give away as well.

Saturday, November 8th, 2008 at 9:00am will kick off the Dyno Day at Nevarez Racing Products (nevarezracing.com).

Pricing will be $60 for 3 Dyno Pulls with air/fuel and a printed chart.

The dyno will run all day long, and around 11:30am - 12:00pm we will fire up the grill for burgers and dogs for everyone. Drinks and Snacks will also be provided throughout the day.

And the prizes, we can't forget the prizes.

- 1 Gift Certificate for a FREE Dyno/Street tune from Nevarez Racing, a $525 value, to be raffled away.
- 1 Gift Certificate for 20% off Parts AND Labor from Nevarez Racing to be raffled away.
- 1 Gift Certificate for 10% off any Power Package from Nevarez Racing to be raffled away.
- Highest horsepower of the day Dyno's and Eats for FREE. N/A, Boosted, or Bottled it doesn't matter.

*Ford/Chrysler cars must supply or purchase Diablosport tuner to receive free tune. Visit NRP website for details on power packages.

Nevarez Racing is located at

6925 Speedway Blvd #C-111
Las Vegas, NV 89115

To get to NRP (Nevarez Racing) exit I-15 N at Speedway Blvd (Exit #54) and turn Right towards LVMS. Make a right at the 2nd driveway next to the Shelby Cafe. Make your first left, and NRP will be on your left approx 500 feet down.

Please feel free to cross post this on any forums I may have missed, there is no limit to the amount of cars/people who can attend.

In order to make sure we have enough food/drinks/etc we are requesting that you PLEASE get on the list below. Just post up your screen name and your car. I'll see you all there at 9am on the 8th, and I might even have my car (ha ha, yea right).

I'll probably be there in the truck - would love to see what it's running on & off the bottle.

Does this dyno produce enough load to confidently spray?
TehHorror
I dunno.... isn't that a little far for you to drive.

It's less of a drive for me to go to the Speedway & back than a Desert Muscle meeting.

I can't say that I didn't have fun hanging out with Desert Muscle, but frankly I'm not going to drive 50+ miles roundtrip on a regular basis just to hang out in a parking lot because folks decided that they wanted to meet as close to their own houses as possible rather than entertain any options that might accomodate the handful of us that live on the opposite side of town.

I can't say that I'll never show up ever again, but it's certainly not going to be written on my calendar in permanent ink.

Have I even met you before? Make sure you collect all the tubes of vagisil from the folks who bitched about coming down to my neck of the woods for one pair of meets before you try to prescribe any for me.

Thanks Luis! You're being quite flattering but honestly, my car doesn't put down that much power. You'd be suprised how much a non-lockup converter, an automatic and slicks can rob.
It can actually be kind of misleading...Tons of stick shift cars out there make alot of power but it doesn't neccessarily equate to good ET or even MPH from what I've seen at the end of the track.

Back when I still had my T56 in my car, I went 10.2's with my ol' eaton/spray setup before I converted to an auto. After I converted, I ended up losing some "dyno number" power, and I still went quicker and faster with nothing else being different.

Alex and I both lost over 150 rwhp going from Manual Trans to Non-lockup Autos, he went from 880rwhp with his T56 to 691 with the 4R (which is how much power he had when he went 9's)...As a matter of fact, I'm putting down around that power too! If I wanted my car to be strictly a dyno queen, I would've kept 'er stick! But I love drag racing and the only real number that means anything to me is at the end of the track anyways which is why I converted (besides the fact that my car shreaded up the T56 soon after the 10.2 pass which adamanted my decision to convert over). The high hp stick shift cars should win this event, but I figure I would put my car on the rollers for fun of it and represent some Desert Muscle. happy.gif
