I was forced into on coming traffic over the center median a couple of days ago by some asshole driver, causing my two driverside tires to blow out and bend the rims. The dealer wants 1500 for two new rims and tires w/TPS. I refused to pay that crazy amount and purchased some 20x8.5 w/245/35r/20 for the front and 20x10 w/ 275/30r/20 for the rears. What im looking for is 2 wheels and tires I can borrow or cheaply rent for a couple of hours, so I dont have to have my car towed from the dealer to Discount Tire when my rims arrive. The car is a 2008 Pontiac G8 GT and I would need some 18's with a 5x120 bolt pattern.

Put your 2 good wheels on the back, throw your spare on the front, and you can borrow my other spare for the other front from my GTO.

Insurance will cover it, but I dont see the point of purchasing 2 stock wheels and tires for $1500 not sure if this even covers labor. When I can buy 4 new rims and tires in a design I like for around the same price. If I go the insurance route my monthly payment will go up, because the insurance agent told me that a person cannot cause an accident to prevent an accident, meaning I would be at fault. I had already planned on buying rims and lowering it this month anyway this just helped me speed it up.

My sisters 08 Focus didnt come with a spare either, just a can of fix a flat and an electric pump.
My 08 focus that is one week newer, did come with a spare.
Both cars are same trim level, the only differences are color, transmission, and hers is a 2 door.

GM was going for the 50/50 weight distribution. I was going to buy a spare with my new rims, but since I ordered 20x10 for the rear and 20x8.5 for the front I would have to buy two spares. I think im just going to purchase a full size spare and do away with the tire sealant and pump it came with.

<---rims I ordered!!! 4" lip in the back.

In Nevada,an insurance company can not raise your rates based on a claim being filed on your behalf for a first time accident... now, if you recently filed another claim.....

And idea when this law went into effect ... ?
A while back my ins raised my rates $380 / yr because they had to pay $220 (on my $500 deductible) because my truck was broken into. Despite me not being at fault, they justified the increase by saying I now had "a" claim on my record. Seemed pretty fuct at the time, regardless glad to hear they had to change it.

My rate just went up, because I was involved in an accident, that was not my fault (I was in a stopped car!)

Did you file a claim? Are you sure it wasn't because rates just went up as a whole?

the rims look sweet!
Insurance sucks their goal as an industry is to screw us all to death while they fill their pockets, and/or distribute our money to the jackass' who cant drive and have good lawyers. God forbid we ever get screwed by a cop with a reckless driving ticket. then insurance would just about double for some of us.
