I was able to borrow another trailer and get both the Cobras to the track and
I was also able to get my machinist Adam Dahl to drive the N/A car while I raced my Terminator.
So I finally got to go to the track yesterday tried and out the new setup!
Needless to say, I need a manual tensioner at the very minimum. The boost that it did hold on the dyno didn't hold at all under "real world" acceleration. I think it just revs too fast through the lower gears. It manage to spike to about 25psi and instantly go down to 19 psi. Strangely enough, the car still ran what a decent pass would have been with my 2.3 Whipple setup but with a better Trap than I ever have had while not 60' well at all which was a 1.56 (a tenth slower than my average with ET Streets). Here's a vid. Once I get this figured out, it should move well! Here's a pic and a vid from the day. Even with my belt slip I was able to have fun and got a good race out of a Big Block Nitrous Camaro as well.
Anyways,
the N/A car ran pretty good for first time out. I think there's more in it for sure. I didn't know what to expect of the car so the car wasn't exactly geared right for the combo plus the Converter might be a little tight. Plus we were still learning the car. Needless to say I'm happy with the car and we had alot of fun (we had a few fun/grudge races against my fabricator's VW Rabbit that I tuned and one of the homie's homie's Bolt On/cammed C6 Z06).
The car managed a 11.38 the first pass, we shifted higher and got the car to go a 11.28 the second pass. And we shifted it higher again (at 8200 rpm) and the car went 11.18@123mph with a crappier 60' (car went 1.60's on the other passes, and high 1.6's on the final and best pass of the day).
In case you're wondering the car scaled in at 3400 lbs without the driver which is 280 lbs.
