Whos going ?

I'm going to try to be there around 7-7:30 depending on traffic.

I'll be at the Petro on Speedway Blvd for a bit if anyone wants to meet us there....

If someone buys my drag radials and/or has a set of wider slicks/DR's available that I can get mounted by tomorrow night then I'll fill up the bottle and head out... Otherwise it won't be worth it - if I pulled a 2.4 60' with 325/45-17 DR's I'd probably play pong against the walls on my 20" street tires. If I'm not able to run WOT from start to finish it simply isn't fun.

I'm prolly going tonight.

How the heck are you getting a 2.4 60' with 325 DRs? Sheesh, Luis has 550+ rwhp on his GTO and he was able to get 1.7s out of 275 nitto DRs. Of course it's not like LVMS does a very good job prepping the track either lol

It's probably a combination of things...
1) The tires are actually 28"x10.5", dunno why they say 325's. They're good tires, I'm just overloading them at the track.
2) The last time I raced at LVMS was during the summer - it was still hot outside, and track prep wasn't very good that night
3) I am probably putting close to 600# of torque to the ground when I spray out of the hole.
4) I have 4.56 gears
5) It's a pickup truck - virtually no weight on the back wheels
6) My rear shocks are completely shot - will get some QA1's someday
7) I don't have Caltracs or any other traction aids (yet)

The quicker/cheaper solution will be to buy bigger tires, but in the long run I'll also work on improving the suspension geometry. A few friends of mine with similar mods who did go through the steps of improving their suspension are pulling 1.5's-1.6's, hopefully I'll be there in the spring.

I'll be waiting to watch a friend race for his first time tonight (just happens to be a GTO).
He isn't really a car guy but he asked me about it today at work.

And no, no pics tonight - still have to catch up on the last batch.

Just keep an eye out there are going to be 3-4 racing and the rest are just gonna watch. I can't go because I have baby duty but I promise you when the car is done then I will def be out ASAP.

Kicking myself for not racing, the conditions looked good.

Didn't make it there, got stuck at work and then went out for drinks with co-workers

Track was good for me.

4k launches bogged on street tires that normally break loose at 1500... dropped almost a half a second off my ET with the same crap 60 so I was impressed.

I looked for the goats but I didnt see many - I was in line waiting to run most of the time though.
