Sounds like a good race for my miata.

First off...why did you ride with him?

Second...99 cobras are high 13 second cars, sounds like it needs a major tune-up.

Not out here. Low 14's with mods. My buddy had one and best it went was 13.9 @ 100 and that every bolt on possible.

i would of gone through on my own, just dont have a driver license

I got a mustang "GT" i need to fix that you can race, or i can tell him if you want

the wheel hop on the car was bad, we were launching at 3k, i dindt go throught the wet box. never done a burnout on my car so dont know how to do one and i couldnt get into 3rd after the first run

i got 14.0x @ 96 on my first run launched at 2.5k, then went up to 15.0x when i launched at 3k, then 15.1x. My brother ran 15.4x then 15.2x.

how do i find the elevation?

99-01 Cobras are slightly faster than S197 GT stock for stock and I ran high 13's stock in my S197GT.

In Vegas? Completely stock? Never seen one run that quick in Vegas.

QUIKZ06, it all depends on the time of year. During the summer and when the DA is over 5000, even C6 Z06s are running high 12s.
SinCity R/T
The look on people's faces is priceless when they see their first timeslip and realize the huge difference between "should run" and "actually runs in Las Vegas".

Yes it was stock to the tires in 2006, shortly after I bought it.

I've moved a couple times, so I doubt I still have the slip, but I'll look.

It was 13.979 @ 99 I think, with a 2.07 60ft.

With that said, I also have never seen another one run that fast. I would think mid to low 14's would be realistic.

I found my post on SNMA from when I ran that time. It was Mar 31/Apr 1, 2006.

Just got home from MM, got into the 13's tonight (barely)

Timeslip (I'm getting better, get a few more passes and I'll be doing well)

R/T....0.420
60'.....2.131
330'...5.913
1/8.....9.039
1000'..11.721
1/4.....13.979
MPH....99.74

Now my next goal is to get my trap speed over 100mph, baby steps.

Must have been a factory freak??? The DA last night was right around 4000' which KILLS power on N/A cars. My first race right off the highway was against a C5 Z06 with LOUD exhaust(didn't hear it until I was in the stands watching people.......he was so far behind me I couldn't hear him on the run) and he ran a 13.8@111. The car had some big bling wheels and street tires on it as well.

Not only that, but driver as well. I could beat most of the C6 Z06 cars with a stock C5 Z06.

swoosh-stang,
Then I stand corrected. You are the quickest one I have ever heard of out here.

It was red.............but I believe the wheels were chrome(may be mistaken) and it also had some black "stuff/graphics" on it.

That's a possibility, I never got it dynoed stock, but later that summer It dynoed 311/345 with JLT, O/R X-pipe and a canned tune.

I guess no fast Vettes were there then. lol wink.gif

I saw a LOT of cars with potential to be fast out there, but bikes excluded I saw less than 7 cars run a 12.99 or faster.

Even VR4's and SyTy's were spinning out past the 660' mark.

I guess that makes my car 1 of 7!!!! There was lots of traction to be found(left over from the drag racing school earlier in the day) from 7-9pm before it started to go downhill. I ran my new personal best on my second pass with a slight amount of spin against my buddy on his Harley(who said he was gonna beat my Crossfire)..........

I would be one too smile.gif i had was in the same boat, i borrowed some ET streets and still spun some but i didnt have to let off this time, and still didnt get a great 60' I think i may have to righ a button to spray off the line next time haha.. The 26" tires didnt help the ET a whole lot except for the traction part... i think my best was 12.83 at 113 or close to that...ill get my slip out of the car tomorrow.
