Hahahaa thats bad ass! Both drivers pushed the cars but mustang outhandles that vette all day although the vette makes 200 more horsepower.

Griggs makes some killer stuff. If I was rich I would have that stuff on my car in a heartbeat.

I call bullshit on that Geoff. I know plenty of corvette drivers(90 percent) that know how to drive their car you just happen to fall in the 10 percent category . It didnt say in the video but I believe the vette had a pro driver in it to and so did the mustang.

Put the same driver in a c6 and then a mustang, both stock, and the c6 will go around the track faster, as it will mod for mod.

This is VERY true...............and it makes me VERY happy. That's why I fix a lot of AMG cars.

I know guys with expensive cars who have taken them on road coarses like the above. They are probably the stars of dozens of threads like this. Not everyone has something to prove.

But one thing I do know ... the guy with the $200k usually still goes home with a trophy regardless of whether or not he wins or loses ...

Fact of the matter is at that time there was only ONE person with a single digit car on this forum, and from what I am told that Datsun would have stomped a hole in his ass (and IIRC he was working on a few bugs on his car at the time).

What that has to do with a slow car and a fast driver, vs a fast car with a slow driver, on a ROAD COURSE, I have no idea.

because it lost to a mustang on a road course? I don't care if the mustang had a suspension that was forged by god himself. A C6 (Z06 no less) should NOT lose to a mustang on a racetrack unless:
1. Mustang driver is superior
2. Mustang is modded and has a superior driver.

A C6Z handles better, has better weight distribution, and is lighter and more powerful than any mustang.

Vette got beat end of story so just accept the fact that it lost. Is it a faster car overall? Yes. Does it handle better then that mustang on the roadcourse? No. . I like how you come to conclusion that C6Z06 is better in all kinda ways then ANY mustang . I think you forgot SALEEN and ROUSH or better yet GRIGGS PERFORMANCE. I bet you if we put down an Saleen S281 SC with SALEEN suspension it would run circles around that vette and thats ford racing parts right there. I agree with Geoff on the price. Bit outregous but a beautifful car.

Btw, I'm not just a vette fanboy. I like everything, and I know anything can be made to go fast (in a straight line or on a road course). Hell, usually it's little miatas that are tearing it up and making assholes out of vette/Porsche/vipers...etc.

The point I'm trying to make, is that a mustang will not be able to beat a C6Z on a track unless it has some sort of advantage, be it a much better driver, extensive mods, or both.

Actually that video proves my point exactly. Like I said a couple posts above, ANYTHING can be made to go fast in a straight line, or on a roadcourse.

If the vette was really running PS Cups. It could very well be that he was a newb on race tyres. Sticky compounds to an inexperienced driver are extremely unnerving and not confidence inspiring at all.

I will give that stang driver props on driving ability. He was pushing that car pretty hard.
