I'm gonna need some new tires pretty soon for my Goat, and seeing if there are any good alternatives to those BF Goodriches that GM decided to put on there in the first place. I know where to get tires locally at a good deal, since I work at a dealership, but could use some recommendations. I've been suggested Falkens, but as long as they are 245/45 zr17s I need to know my options. Thanks a bunch

What kind of tire are you looking for ?

Road vs Track vs Wet vs Dry Traction

Straight Line vs Cornering ?

Nitto, BFG, and MT, Falken, and Kuhmo have some good options for you.

Tell us what you want to do and I'll throw a few opinions out there for you..

Basically road, no track (I know.. blasphemy right?), something that is a little more grip than the BFGs on there right now. I have been hearing a ton of good things about Falken and Kumho in regards to both price and performance. I work at the dealership and our tire supplier tells me he can sell me four Falkens balanced and mounted for about $550.. including tax. Just waiting for one more confirmation about how good of a deal that is, and hopefully my check works out right too.

The Falken RT615's are an excellent all around tire.

The NItto 555's are good too, but if you want straight line performance the Nitto DR's are good.

The BFG tires are actually pretty good tires also.
