Opening up a can of worms here for someone reading as a guest wink.gif

A friend of mine claims that he raced a 03 cobra that had 540 HP. He does not state RWHP or flywheel.

He claims the mods are..

Magnaflow Catback
2.76 Pulley
K&N (I don't think it was the full FIPK)
Nitto Drag Radials
ShortShifter, I forget the brand..

I see something missing, don't you?

Same guy that says he raced this Cobra, says his blown/cammed 2V PI GT (with a 01 Cobra shortblock) with full suspension went deep 11's in Vegas on 464 RWHP and 507 RWTQ - I believe with 18" Nitto DR's

So what do you think - go ahead and vote. Legit person, or full of malarkey?

WTF!! if that case then the 540Cobra should be running 9s if ur friend ran low 11's with 464rwhp! Sounds like an e-racer to me....
SVT03

Most I've ever heard of from a pullied car with no port was about 480 rwhp. So I'm calling BS, if it was 10 or 15 whp I would say it could be a dyno calibration thing, but I'm not buying 60 rwhp.

I'm not as quick to call BS on this one, I saw someone that was putting down around 410rwhp (std, Gil's Dyno) run a 12.2 on a 1.60 60ft with Nitto's. With an extra 50+/- rwhp (60-65 if it is SAE) and a perfect day I can see someone getting into the mid to low 11's, especially if there is some weight reduction.

So I'm thinking on the first one, either there is some info missing (like a 50 shot) or it's complete bs. On the second one, I'm not as quick to call bs, but I'm not buying it. Maybe his defiinition of Deep 11's is 11.80's.

Based on the first statement, I would guess he's BS'ing on the second one also. Ask him for Slips.

The cobra he raced had a stock supercharger, and a stock lower pulley. Just the upper.

He claims that he lost to the Cobra so he changed his supercharger pulley, but when asked about a rematch he says the Cobra owner totaled his car shortly after...

On his GT there is no weight reduction. It has 18" wheels, upgraded brakes, body kit, full interior, etc - it's pretty portly for a lil GT. Also his definition of full suspension is lowering springs, shocks/struts, pandhard bar, and a couple STB's

50 RWHP to go from a 12.2 to a sub 11.3 (low 11's) is just not enough IMO, especially at LVMS in October at night...

he raced a Cobra? would you happen to have it on video?
triple6motorsports
Making 540rwhp with the mods listed is very far fetched with out a port. Also a blown built p1 gt will lose to a cobra with those mods ive done it wink.gif
ArthurJGuy
Well it looks like it is pretty much confirmed, he is a tool.

and as a matter of face Ace, I do have the video of that race as well as his claims of the Cobra having 540hp and wrecking..
The gas man
Not to mention the abcense of the fuel system mod. 60# ers Bap ect.
