WNSW 5/7/08:
R/T: .420 (stoners rejoice - the other guy had exactly .420 as well)
60': 1.733
330': 5.070
1/8: 7.903
MPH: 87.44
1000: 10.307
1/4: 12.333
MPH: 111.14
This was a shakedown night - in retrospect I wish I would have done my usual max speed prep instead - 11's should be easily within reach the next time I go back to the track.

I drive it on the street on a regular basis, even use it to haul stuff around from time to time. In the grand scheme of things it's a relatively tame setup; engine was stroked from 360ci to 408ci, ported heads w/mild cam, it has most of the standard bolt-ons, plus 4.56 gears.
Last night I was just testing the N2O system's functionality so I came with a partially-filled bottle, 900# w/o heater, no purge, and only 100hp jets. Next time I race I'll bring a full/hot bottle and more jets. The engine should be capable of withstanding 300hp jets but I'll probably limit it to 150hp or 175hp in the interests of longevity.

bump - new best from tonight. Hopefully next time! I did also get a new best 60' on my first pass, 1.669.

I saw that run from the stands, that mofo hooked up like hell. I thought that was an 11.80 pass for sure.
Was that 125 or 150 ? Did you drop em down to the 125's ?

I thought I had the 150hp jets in there, but when I got home & was putting away my racing gear I noticed that I was using the 125hp N2O jet with a 150hp fuel jet. I'll put the 150hp N2O jet in next time, plus I'm going to work on getting some lightweight front wheels (those 20's are about 75# each with tires), plus reduce a little bit more weight.

I didn't get my 11.x slip on Friday - definitely gotta get my bottle pressure under control. I can't use my existing bottle heater due to other electrical issues, hopefully I'll have something MacGyvered before next Wednesday. Traction was fine, although I bounced/hopped a bit more than usual - not too surprising though, at some point I need to get new shocks & some Caltracs.
12.1, 12.1, 12.3...
Note to self: Put the battery IN the camera before handing it off to someone else to shoot photos/videos.

11.860 @ 113.36, 1.69 60'. I'm kinda bummed though, didn't get bottle filled until 5pm so it was ice cold, 800# tops. I know that left at least a tenth or two on the table - will see what I can do about getting a purge solenoid & 1100-1200# in the tank for 12/12's MM.

Yes it's a new best, but I was expecting to run faster. I suppose any night where you can run a PB and still drive home is a good one though, gives me some anticipation for 12/12.

I swear, every time I get a new PB there's some wacky story to tell about why it wasn't as good as it should have been...
Even though it rained all day and as usual people were bitching about the traction, I set a new PB 1.62 60' on my first pass. Everything felt great, until the 1000' mark - the nitrous cut out. After the November MM I decided to re-do my nitrous wiring, and apparently I used too small of a fuse on the source wire. Even though I lost the nitrous I set a new PB of 11.76, but at only 111mph (instead of 114+) - it felt like it probably would have been an 11.5x pass if things had gone smoothly.
I put the wiring back to the way I had it before, but it was too late - it was too cold outside to maintain bottle pressure, and my truck's engine gets heat soaked from MM's stop and go shuffling in the pits. My other two passes were 11.8's.
There's always next time...
