Okay for all of the cobra guys.

I am seriously considering pulley time.

I was planning on waiting and doing the twin screw but pulleys are so cheap.

I'm thinking 2.80 or 2.76 upper.

Without a ported blower, what's the most I can do?

Can I do a 2.76 upper and lower?

What supporting mods do I absolutely need and what supporting mods would be suggested.

What idler pulleys should I get.

What brand, I was thinking Billet flow, but wasn't sure if there's another good brand.

Appreciate the help. I also would liek to hear any other suggestions.

I have made 432/400 without a pulley, what can I expect with a 2.76 and the appropriate tune? I was thinking in the 480 range.
svtfrankie
talk to sean he has a 2.76 upper made buy billet flow mid pipe, cat back and tune. he made 476/507

Either pulley would be great. If you plan on doing a lower pulley id stick with the 2.80 better for lowered combos down the road. As far as supporting mods you def want to keep that blower cool since your going to ramp up that boost. Cooling mods such as a larger intercooler tank and heatexchanger are great. Also a KB BAP and mafia to keep that afr inline. Your going to want to run an 100mm upper idler to help prevent belt slip I would replace the other idlers also just because fords idlers arnt really great as far quality lol. Billet flow makes great products i wouldnt run anything else, If you have anymore questions or need these parts I am a vendor and can get these parts to ya at a great price.

You should see around 470-480rwhp good luck.

I was considering doing a 4lb lower and like a 3.1ish upper, to help with belt slip. Plus if I go ported/twinscrew later I only have to change the upper to take advantage of the blower.

What are your feelings on this?

I got this graph off SVTP:

It looks like a 2.76 alone is about the same as a 4lb/3.1 combo.

I would think I would need a larger alternator pulley also If I do that.

I was thinking that if I got the upper kit with a 3.1 and a 2.76, the 100mm idler kit, 4lb lower and the appropriate belt size, then I would pretty much be set up for a port later.
SVT03
i have never had belt slip once with a 2.76 and stock lower.

The 3.1 upper and the 4lb lower is a great combo it says it puts you at the same boost but the torque of the lower is awesome. I ran a 2.8 upper 6lb lower with just an upper idler no slip and crazy tq. Belt slip with the upper idler is not a problem. As i stated before changing the other idlers would benefit you in longevity but its not needed.

Okay so after a little research I'm going to just go with an upper for now. I've been looking and I have a few questions:

First, a pulley.

This is the one I was considering, with a 2.65 or 2.75 pulley:
http://www.lethalperformance.com/pages-pro...lley-eaton.html

my second choice is this one, with a 2.76 pulley:
http://www.lethalperformance.com/pages-pro...d-1-pulley.html

Second, is Idler Pulleys:
What size idler should I get, will I be getting slipping problems without it?

I was considering this one:
http://www.lethalperformance.com/pages-pro...ler-pulley.html

or this one:
http://www.lethalperformance.com/pages-pro...ger-pulley.html

or this one:
http://www.lethalperformance.com/pages-pro...ler-pulley.html

I'm not sure about them.

Next is Belt, what size and brand should I get?

Next comes the fuel system:

What will I need?
MAFia?
Injectors?
BAP?

Am I missing anything?

2.65 Reichard Racing is what I've been using for alot of my customers cars that will spend the money for a ported blower in the future but won't know if they will go with a lower. It's pretty close to a 2.8 with a 1 lb lower if there was such a thing.
I like reichard because they're aluminum and they're have grooves machined out for maximum grip.

Second, is Idler Pulleys:

You need an idler, plain and simple. Which one you choose is up to your personal taste.

I was considering this one:

Depends on how tight you want it, and what pulley you're getting, I like Gate's belts.

Next comes the fuel system:

What will I need?
MAFia?
Injectors?
BAP?

Shouldn't need any of the three yet...BAP in the future.

Am I missing anything?

A tune.

Looks like you're on the right track.

That's my $.02 but then again, what do I know? laugh.gif j/k

I'm running the Billetflow 2.76 with upper idler and stock lower. Did 447RWHP with stock cats, Flowmaster singles and K&N intake. This is right about what this combo should do on a safe 91 octane tune. I get belt slip frequently. Reichard has pulleys that don't slip, which is what I ordered for my Whipple.
Keep in mind that the 2.76 and stock lower is already spinning the Eaton at max rpm. I wouldn't spin it any harder without a port and blueprint.

Was that 447 on a mustang dyno?

My car made 432/399, with just a K&N Intake, Borla Catback and a tune. I was looking for 470 if I go with a 2.80.

He also has flowmasters (the worst muffler you can run on a boosted car) and belt slip.

I think 450-470 is pretty accurate with a good solid tune.

447 on Dynojet with SCT at Silverstate Motorsports. Every dyno is different. Every car is different. Every day is different. In general I've gathered that these Cobras do about 370 stock and in the 450 range pullied. Steigemeier stage 5 port can get you up to 510 with a 2.76. Some get more, some get less. Check out SVT03's post. He has the same numbers I have with equal mods. Your numbers are unusually high so you should get your 470 with that pulley. Check out http://www.stiegemeier.com/home.html This is a good link for info on what you can do with the Eaton and what to expect with different mods. My numbers are right about what I see these cars getting with these mods; and my tune is very conservative. I have a gen2 2.3 Whipple waiting to go on mine and was hoping for 600. But I've found that 600 on 91 octane is doubtfull. So I'm going with 16-17 lbs of boost which all my tuners say will get me in the 570 to 580 range. ( I've been talking to many.....too many) I try not to get too wrapped up in dyno numbers. There's shops you can go too just to see impressive numbers, but it's just a tool really. Just make sure you have a good tuner who isn't going to blow your motor just to see that number. ( I've decided to have Gil at NRP do mine after meeting with Ace and the guys there. I feel comfortable with everything I heard and saw there. I'm sure you'll get what you're after with the 2.8. You'll notice it from the seat for sure. It'll sound bad ass too. Good luck, enjoy!

yes....good words of wisdom indeed. mine did 474rwhp and 478 rwtq with a 2.76, plenum,tb, heat xchanger, and exhaust so you should definitely hit your mark with the pully.
