The red/green car has a little more under the curve mostly torque so it could potentially launch a bit better, but the blue/purple one has more peak HP and carries the power another 500 rpm before falling off.
Click to view attachmentIn this particular comparison, I would say the purple torque band would be faster, realistically, you spend the bulk of your time in a drag race at 5500+rpm, at 5500 the purple one has roughly 15-20 more lb-ft and it only gets worse from there.
Now for a car that is a DD, from 2000-4000 rpm you're giving up around 15-20 lb-ft, but you do still have 400+ lb ft, seems adequate to me.
What's the curve look like on the one you picked?
